The Role

We need someone who lives in the space between raw data and business insight. You’ll take messy, scattered data sources and turn them into clean, trusted, well-documented models that power dashboards, reports, and decision-making for our international partners.

What You’ll Do

• Build and maintain transformation layers using dbt or Dataform on top of BigQuery or Snowflake
• Design semantic models that translate raw event data into business-ready dimensions and metrics
• Implement data quality tests, freshness checks, and documentation that makes your models self-explanatory
• Build dashboards and reporting layers in Looker Studio, Metabase, or Looker (LookML)
• Collaborate with data engineers on pipeline design and with stakeholders on metric definitions
• Write SQL that other humans can actually read — CTEs, clear naming, and comments that explain the “why” not just the “what”

What We’re Looking For

• 2+ years working with data in production — building models that real people use, not just Kaggle projects
• Expert-level SQL — window functions, CTEs, complex joins, and performance optimization are second nature
• Hands-on dbt or Dataform experience (strongly preferred) — writing models, tests, macros, and documentation
• Experience with a cloud warehouse (BigQuery preferred, Snowflake or Redshift also fine)
• Familiarity with BI tools: Looker Studio, Metabase, Looker, Tableau, or Power BI
• Understanding of dimensional modeling (star schema, fact/dimension tables, SCD)
• Clear written English — you’ll write documentation that international teams rely on
